Ashonte´ S. Lyles

Published Writer, Poet, Spoken Word Artist, & Freelance columnist

Ashonté S. Lyles is a published writer, poet, spoken word artist, and freelance columnist. Some of her past work can be found in back issues of Game Changers Magazine: A Conscience Culture, her spoken word poem “Got My Beats” is featured as the intro on Hip Hop artist Pablo Ali’s “Mixed Tape” project, and her flash fiction story “Chanel’s Death Wish” is the first story in the inaugural issue of Phil Slattery’s online publication “Dark Passions Magazine.” She and her husband are coauthoring a book called “The Come Up! Breaking the Cycle of Poverty and Closing the Wealth Gap | A Real Rags to Riches Story”, dubbed the Green Book Guide to Financial Freedom, exposing little-known and obscured information to those excluded from wealth. She is compiling interviews for an anthology about the Black Diaspora as well as several other writing projects.

 

Ashonté retired from the Federal Aviation Administration in February 2020 and proudly has 22 combined years of federal service. She is a 100% disabled veteran who honorably served in the US Air Force for 11 years. Ashonté and her husband Marlon are the proud parents of three, and grandparents of two. She is a global citizen who lives in Orlando, Florida, originated in New Orleans, Louisiana, and is of Louisiana Afro-Creole descent.
